The Jameel Arts Centre opened to the public on 11 November 2018 and is the Middle East's first not-for-profit contemporary art institution, located in Dubai Culture Village.

Designed by UK-based Serie Architects, under the lead of Christopher Lee, the centre was conceived as a series of boxes of varying dimensions, bound together by a one-storey high colonnade.

In this video interview, Middle East Architect speaks to principal architect and founding partner at Ibda Design, who was behind the concpept of the Sculpture Park at the Jameel Arts Centre.

You can also watch our video interview with Lee, who provides a detailed explanation of the concept, as well as with landscape architect Anouk Vogel, who discusses the use of desert plants and courtyards across the project.
