Video: Christopher Lee of Serie Architects on the design of Jameel Arts Centre

The Jameel Arts Centre opened to the public on 11 November 2018 and is the Middle East's first not-for-profit contemporary art institution, located in Dubai Culture Village.

Designed by UK-based Serie Architects, under the lead of Christopher Lee, the centre was conceived as a series of boxes of varying dimensions, bound together by a one-storey high colonnade.

In this video interview, Lee speaks to Middle East Architect about the thought process behind the building's architectural and landscape design, its immediate and wider context, and how the architcture uses traditional methods to promote sustainability.
