Work starts on new centre for Omani cricket

Work has started on a new cricket centre in Oman which has been designed by architects Huckle and Partners to capitalise on the growing popularity of the sport in the sultanate

The Centre for Excellence in the Al Amerat district of Muscat features eight indoor practice nets with simulated different playing surfaces and monitoring systems for coaching for both male and female players of all ages and levels.

The building at the ground floor level shall house offices for Oman Cricket, and also provides a professional gymnasium along with dedicated dressing rooms for home and away teams.

Two playing fields with lights to enable day-night matches are also part of the centre which is scheduled to open next year.
