Turner & Townsend to fit out Galleries Lafayette in Doha
Turner & Townsend has been appointed to lead the multi-million dollar internal fit out of French retailer Galeries Lafayette’s first department store in Qatar.
The consultancy firm will project and cost manage the fit out of the three-floor, 14,000m2 building.
The space is franchised by the Ali Bin Ali Group (ABA Group), a Qatar-based privately-owned family company.
The interior of Les Galeries Lafayette, which will include 400 luxury brands in clothing, accessories and homeware, will be designed by Paris-based architect Bruno Moinard of 4BI & Associates.
Expected to be completed before the end of 2017, the store will form part of the Katara Cultural Village and Katara Retail Plaza shopping mall in Doha.

Ground cooling technology will be used to help control the centre’s climate and enhance the shopping experience, making it one of the world’s first outdoor, air conditioned commercial plazas, said Turner &Townsend in a statement.
The plaza will also include a mall for children, a branded spa, shops, cafes, restaurants, offices, luxury boutique hotel, landscaped park areas – all built over two stories of basement parking.
