Saudi designers create installation that sparks nostalgia during Dubai Design Week
A Saudi-based design and innovation firm, Think Tank Co., has created an interactive installation for Dubai Design Week, using music as a means of bringing people together.
‘Takki w Hakki’ will be presented at the new Rove Hotel in Dubai, in partnership with multi functional design space 1971 Design Space.
The installation itself features a a circular swing set complete with five seats, tailored to resemble an old-fashioned saddle. Each seat comes with a headset, with music performed by Saudi musician Majid Al Essa who created a mix of traditional Samry songs. The music aims to take people on a nostalgic journey of the senses.
Rove Hotel won this year’s Hotel category at the Commercial Interior Design Awards, designed by Emaar Hospitality and Stride Treglown.
