Saudi Arabia plans 71,000 new housing units

Arab News has reported that Saudi Arabia is underway with a programme to develop 70,833 housing units.

According to the news source, a number of projects are in motion, with Jeddah due to build 15,980 residential units split over two separate projects.

Sultan Al Dosari, spokesman for the Makkah region, told Arab News: “Housing projects are a positive step towards radically solving the problem of growing demand on houses.

“These steps came in accordance with the directions of Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal and in compliance with the orders of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.”
