Pedrali wins Good Design Award 2013 for Ester armchair

Italian contemporary furniture firm Pedrali has won the Good Design Award 2013 in the furniture category for its Ester armchair designed by Patrick Jouin.

The Good Design Award is a prestigious prize promoted by the Museum of Architecture and Design Chicago Athenaeum in cooperation with the European Centre for Architecture, Art Design and Urban Studies every year since 1950.

It includes a variety of design disciplinary fields such as architecture, industrial design, product design, graphics and urban planning.

The Ester armchair is described as a piece that combines elegance, ergonomics and functionality. The seat of the chair is made of polyurethane foam with elastic belts on a steel structure. Other materials used include leather or fabric, refined die-casted satinised aluminum as well as brushed bronze or black nickel for the legs.
