HBA launches residential services in the Middle East
Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), one of the region’s leading hospitality interior design firms, is now offering residential services to its Middle Eastern clientele. With the firm’s residential sector based out of Singapore, HBA is now providing end-to-end interior design work for private villas, penthouses, luxury buildings as well as houses.
HBA’s Singapore division consists of a strong team of residential design experts led by the RIBA qualified principal Chris Godfrey. Together, the design team looks to offer holistic design, high-quality control and exceptional personal service to its distinguished clientele.
Godfrey explains: “HBA has always engaged in residential design work globally, which amounts to roughly 25% of its workload. But over the years, the need for a specialised unit has been strongly recognised. It all started when I was working with HBA in India on Four Seasons about three years ago and handling the residential aspect of the project. We discussed the need for a specialised and expert unit and HBA Residential was conceptualised.
“HBA will still be actively engaged with residential projects globally, but HBA Residential comes in when a high-end, bespoke project is involved.”
According to Godfrey, HBA Residential is a boutique offering with a global reach. The residential department works collaboratively with its network office in the Middle East to apply its local design expertise, as well as regulation knowledge so that every project is seamlessly delivered.
“Having previously worked on projects in the UAE, I felt that the expertise that a focused residential design team offered was very well-received and wanted. The main reason the Middle East in particular was very appealing to penetrate was because it is an evolving market with progressive people who are open to and want to do something new.
“We saw this as an opportunity and decided to bring forward our expertise to the region with the help of HBA’s network office in Dubai,” says Godfrey.
Godfrey adds that in addition to being specialists in the field of focused residence design, HBA Residential also offers holistic design to its clients – meaning it has a team of architects, interior designers and furniture design experts all working together to deliver cohesive schemes. “By choosing us,” he says, “clients have access to all of our services, which ensures cost-effectiveness as well as a perfect marriage between all elements involved in creating a bespoke residence.”
HBA was established in 1965 and continues to tune into the changing dynamics that control the global interior design market. With offices in Atlanta, Bangkok, Beijing, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Singapore, New Delhi and many more international cities, HBA is one of the world’s largest design firms.
