Hadid wins Nuremberg exhibition centre
Iraq-born architect Zaha Hadid has revealed plans for a 8,000m² exhibtion centre for the huge Nuremberg trade fair and conference district.
The $45m centre will open in 2014 and is the latest phase in the ongoing development of the 170,000m² Expo zone.
Hadid’s steel-framed building features a series of wave-shaped slats between 13m and 20m above the 75m-wide hall.
The project is set to obtain certification from the Deutsche Gesellschaft für nachhaltiges Bauen (German Association for Sustainable Building).
