Green light for new Fujairah city
Plans to start building the $381 million Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan city in Fujairah have been approved by the UAE President’s Initiatives Committee.
The city will comprise of 1,100 residential units, and will include schools, mosques, clinics, parks, shopping malls, and a community centre.
Chaired by Ahmed Juma Al Zaabi, deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs, the committee has instructed authorities to start making the designs to construct the city.
Al Zaabi said that the residential city project would achieve “stability and social security for families”.
In March, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and ruler of Fujairah, issued a decree ordering construction of the city.
The city will be located in the Al-Hail area behind Fujairah International Airport.
