Speaking to Middle East Architect, Ammar Al Assam, commented: “The last year was very good for us. We  have a much more diverse portfolio.

“We have projects in Abu Dhabi and Dubai,  but Iraq and Saudi are particularly busy.”

In Iraq, Al Assam reveals that the practice is working on the  headquarters building for the Basra Governorate and a 5-star hotel in Basra for the Ministry of Sports & Youth.

He added: “We are also providing a structural urban plan for Qadisiya province in the middle of the country, in collaboration with AECOM.”

In Saudi Arabia, the practice is due to start design work on a 20-storey tower with hotel and residential components in Dammam.

This follows the recent design of a tilted 150m tower in Dammam, for construction for building material supplier Al-Abdulkarim Holding.
