Caparol Paints releases new metallic range

The German company has recently launched a new colour range for the Middle East market.

UAE: Having studied the preferences of homeowners in the Middle East, Caparol has launched a newly developed paint range that’s sure to add a little extra detailing to interiors and exteriors.

Amna Mirza, interior designer at Caparol’s Colour Design Studio, explained: “The inclination of the local market segment toward gold and shimmer was the inspiration behind the launch of our Metallocryl range in the region.”

She continued: “Caparol is the only company that offers exterior metallic paints in the United Arab Emirates. This water-based range is not only inspirational for interior designers and homeowners, but it also offers the added benefit of being environmentally friendly.”

Caparol’s new Metallocryl range comes with green features including: low odour, low VOC, a water-base, as well as being tintable and washable. And according to Mirza, Metallocryl also offers superior colour retention and can be applied easily over plain surfaces, textured finishes and the Caparol wall coverings range.

The metallic range has been proven to be quite popular among residential buildings, particularly living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms. It’s also becoming a chic design choice for commercial spaces such as shopping malls, showrooms, boutiques, restaurants, clubs as well as in office spaces.

The designers at Caparol have noted an incline in using the metallic range as an accenting element painted on columns, arches, niches, wood carvings, cornices and accent walls, adding what Mirza refers to as a “dramatic and up market effect.”

Mirza further explained: “Caparol’s metallic range includes a wide variety of colours available through the catalogue. It includes the Metallocryl range for interiors and exteriors, Perlatec finishes suitable for interiors over textured finishes, and Capasilver, Capabronze and Capagold, which can be applied over interior and exterior surfaces.”

Caparol is a privately owned German company that for more than a century has been developing, producing and marketing high quality paints, enamels, glazes, structural coatings, materials for facades and insulation technology. Caparol has also recently become a member of Emirates Green Building Council, an initiative that strives to make the UAE a global leader in reducing the ecological footprint of the built environment by 2015.

“In short, the Metallocryl range is the most economical way of ‘glamorising’ a wall. If you consider a wall as an outfit, metallics can be used as an accessory to enhance the entire look by adding elegance and sparkle,” said Mirza.

The new range has been witnessing international success, and most recently been used on the Allianz Arena and Munich’s BMW Museum. It’s also been applied on Madrid’s CaixaForum.
