KSA: The INDEX International Design and Furniture Exhibition KSA is ready for its second edition, taking place from 12 to 14 November with exhibitors spanning from bathroom manufacturers to design and architecture brands.

With construction and design projects booming in the Saudi market, the Building and Interiors Overview- Saudi Arabia issued by Ventures Middle East in co-operation with INDEX KSA showed that the country’s building projects are valued at almost $634bn. This is predicted to translate into major opportunities for interior contracting and fit outs by the end of 2014.

Senior vice president at dmg events, Mike Allsopp, said the fair will once again support the region’s design industry.

Appealing to different sectors of interior design, among this year’s exhibitors is prominent bathroom brand Roca, showcasing its collaborative bathroom solution, Armani Roca as well as other innovative bathroom products designed by the Roca Design Centre and international designers.

“Covering [Saudi Arabia] from east to west, we hope to be of support in finding the right solutions for professionals in the Saudi construction markets and we therefore extend a warm welcome to all,” said Victor Shoone, country manager, Middle East, Roca.

Other firms across the region are also confirmed to attend including Oman’s renowned Poly Products, manufacturers of high quality bedding, who have exhibited at every INDEX since its 1991 debut.

“We wish to showcase our capabilities to prospective customers in Saudi Arabia as well as to the decision makers who matter from the hospitality industry. INDEX KSA provides us with the right platform in Saudi Arabia, which is one of the most important markets for us,” said Syed Anwar Ahsan, general manger, Poly Products.

Luxury design lighting company, Fede, chose INDEX KSA to launch its latest innovations of light switches, decorative lighting and a new surface wiring system.

Marius Roca, export manager of Fede commented: “We participate in many events all over the world and we consider INDEX KSA an opportunity to increase our presence in Saudi Arabia.”

“The design market in general is based on trends and Saudi is no different,” said Allsopp. “INDEX KSA will give the design community an excellent opportunity to source products and services from around the world.”
The 2013 edition includes participation from 19 countries including France, Spain, Czech Republic, Turkey and the USA.

“This year’s event is supported by Home Textiles Export Council, Egypt which will bring 14 top textiles companies for the first time in Saudi Arabia…This show will also feature a wide range of major Saudi Arabian companies,” said Allsopp.

Also for the first time, INDEX KSA will include a Trend Tour, centred on the most interesting and stylish pieces in the market.
