Autodesk’s new CAD tool connects entire product development process into single platform

Multinational software corporation, Autodesk, now offers the first 3D CAD, CAM and CAE tool connecting your entire product development process in a single cloud-based platform, which works on both MAC and PC computers. Called ‘Fusion 360’, the new software allows architects and designers to design, test and fabricate their creation using a single tool, enabling you to quickly iterate on design ideas.

“It’s important to understand that we are now seeing radical changes in the way things are designed, made and used,” said Louay Dahmash, territory director of the Middle East and Turkey at Autodesk. “There has been a disruption in every industry as more are starting to converge and innovate at a rapid pace.”

According to Dahmash, these ‘radical changes’ essentially mean that design software enables designers and engineers to make anything in a matter of minutes, as opposed to days or weeks.

The latest tech software from Autodesk adds to the growing pool of tools at the disposal of designers and architects. With benefits including saving time and money, such tools also provide creatives with the necessary data to propel forward.

“Tools like generative design (the process that mimics nature’s evolutionary approach to design) makes formulating complex geometry possible,” Dahmash said.

The ELBO Chair by Arthur Harsuvanakit and Brittany Presten of Autodesk’s generative design lab, shows the kind of work end-users can accomplish with the computer software.
