3D printing debate set for designMENA Summit
What architects and interior designers can obtain from the use of 3D printing will be a head to head discussion at the designMENA Summit which takes place this afternoon (Tuesday) at the Grosvenor House in Dubai.
Debating the issue on stage will be Bruno Guelaff who runs his own design studio and Ammar Kalo, assistant professor of architecture, art and design at the American University of Sharjah.
The pair will look into the issue of whether the exactitude of the technology takes away the human factor – asking the question: “does this put design into a straight-jacket?”
Other issues such as “has design excellence suffered from increased efficiencies in technology?” will also be on the agenda.
