Grohe launches “Turn Water into Food” campaign as part of Ramadan initiative
German manufacturer of sanitary fittings, Grohe has launched an initiative to “turn water into food” in Saudi Arabai as part of its GROHE Water for Life during the holy month of Ramadan.
Partnering up with H.A Sharbatly, the initiative continues the Green Mosque program that was first conducted in 2014 with the Sharbatly Foundation where 3460 litres of water saved at the mosque were converted into 346 boxes of food. They were then distributed to families in need.
“Turn Water into Food” is part of Grohe’s global water conservation program, Watercare.
“Grohe is on a global mission to help reduce the average water consumption rates year on year; not only through our advanced product technologies but also through awareness campaigns that change mind-sets and habits,” said Antoine Khalife, Grohe VP for the Levant and Gulf states.
“These efforts are especially relevant in Saudi Arabia where the amount of fresh water consumption per capita is double that of the world’s average; while at the same time being situated in one of the world’s driest regions.
“Together with the Sharbatly Foundation, we hope to increase public awareness when it comes to water conservation techniques and to secure the future of this precious natural resource,” he said.
“Turn Water into Food” also builds on the Foundation’s Ramadan Food Distribution Program that provides food to fasting worshipers.
“This holistic program, created specifically to save natural resources but also provide food for the people in need, has two levels of success that reflects the true meaning of Ramadan and makes the program worthy,” said Sayed Ibrahim Abbas Sharbatly, VP at the Sharbatly Foundation.
