Mohamed Salahuddin Architects and Engineers Bureau (MSCEB) is the architect behind the design for Nadeen School in Dilmunia, Bahrain.
The new campus will include a total of 44 classrooms with wide corridors to create internal teaching, learning, and recreational areas.
Design specifics
The school building is designed in a U-shape to include open spaces, promoting outdoor interactions. Covering a built-up area of 22,500 sqm, the design includes a yoga studio, health centre, two swimming pools, and a multi-use hall.
Furthermore, the building’s general orientation has been designed to maximise sunlight within its interiors. As a result, large windows and skylights were added to the design to optimize natural light in interior spaces while having specific external finishes to reduce heat transfer into the building. Specific attention was given to thermal insulation to reduce energy consumption and maintain the temperature inside.
Geotechnical specialist contractor, Keller Grundbau GmbH, was appointed to execute piling works on-site and lay the foundation for the new school.
