An ambitious plan to transform the waterfront of the Serbian capital Belgrade is now underway.
Abu Dhabi-based real estate and investment company Eagle Hills is undertaking the work supported by the Serbian government.
Belgrade Waterfront will be a master-planned community situated along the Sava River in Belgrade, Serbia.
It is one of the most anticipated projects in the country and a ground-breaking ceremony of its first residential buildings was attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, the Mayor of Belgrade Siniša Mali and Eagle Hills board member Mohamed Alabbar.
The $3bn spectacular new city hub is one of a number of UAE investment projects in Serbia.
Vučić said at the ground-breaking ceremony of BW Residences, the first two residential buildings in Belgrade Waterfront: “This innovative project is the first step in defining our vision for the future and defining Serbia’s path towards progress and development, becoming a modern-day country. Belgrade Waterfront will not only revitalise Belgrade, but it will also help our city take its place as an attractive investment destination and put it on the map as one of the leading regional cities.”
The ceremony also marked the completion and inauguration of the waterfront promenade’s first phase of redevelopment, featuring river decks and a children’s play area.
BW Residences will offer a range of one to four-bedroom apartments and feature a design that draws on the architectural heritage of Belgrade. Units are packaged with an abundance of leisure amenities, retail and dining options that celebrate a European, urban lifestyle.
