The chairperson of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), Bodour Al Qasimi, conducted the inspection and oversaw the progress of two new projects currently under development by Shurooq.
The two projects Sharjah Sustainable City and Al Hira Beach project are key developments by the company. Sharjah Sustainable City is a first-of-its-kind project in the emirate that meets the standards of green economy and environmental sustainability, while the Al Hira Beach project is Shurooq’s largest beach development project to date.
Sharjah Sustainable City is being developed in partnership with Diamond Developers.
Shurooq outlines progress
During the visit, Al Qasimi was accompanied by Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Shurooq, Yousif Ahmed Al-Mutawa, CEO of Sharjah Sustainable City, and other officials.
Al Qasimi toured the two projects and made sure that the projects were set to launch on time. The projects are developed in line with Sharjah’s vision to accelerate their tourism and real estate sectors and to fulfil the developer’s goal of enhancing the investment appeal of Sharjah.
As per the announcement made on the WAM, Al Qasimi emphasised that the Sharjah Sustainable City project aligns with Shurooq’s strategy of bolstering environment-friendly investments, business diversification and developing projects.
Sharjah Sustainable City
The Sharjah Sustainable City was conceived as a model for future cities. An urban mixed-use residential community project, the project is designed to meet the social, environmental and economic sustainability criteria. Adopting renewable and clean energy systems, the sustainable community comprises eco-friendly and energy-efficient 3, 4 and 5-bedroom villas, indoor vertical farms, a school, service facilities and more.
The project is budgeted as AED2 billion and extends over 7.2 million square feet. It is being implemented in four phases.
Al Hira Beach
The AED87 million Al Hira Beach project extends over a 3.5-kilometre across the shoreline overlooking the Arabian Gulf in the Al Fisht area in Sharjah. It comprises three clusters with six retail units in each, featuring 18 restaurants and cafes, a promenade, a marina, sports facilities and service amenities.
Al Hira Beach is the second inclusive beach project developed by Shurooq after the Khor Fakkan Beach. The beach is scheduled to open for visitors and beachgoers in the second quarter of 2022.
