A plan to add six kilometres of paths to the jogging track which runs along Abu Dhabi’s Corniche has been approved.
The extension will be integrated into the pathways along the waterfront and surrounding parks to ensure easy access to all the facilities in the area especially for people with special needs.
A meeting of Abu Dhabi executive planning committee also approved a masterplan which includes new pavements, which it says will “provide secure, adequate and accessible pathways for biking and walking”.
The area attracts up to 50,000 visitors each month and includes a beach, children’s play area, cafes and parks.
