Ecospace building project expands

Ecospace building project expands

A project to provide minimal carbon footprint studios and offices by IPT Architects, set up 10 years ago, has now been extended to include homes and schools.

Designers Amira Idris-Town, Lee Town and Matthew Kettle of the London-based firm set up a side project designing prefabricated buildings.

The team wanted to create sustainable garden buildings that could be configured to fit individual requirements. Known as “Ecospaces”, the structures were built off-site, and delivered and installed quickly and at a relatively low cost.

Now Ecospace’s founders have extended the scope of their practice and the design team has collaborated on a photoshoot by fashion photographer Ben Benoliel to showcase the project.

The structures take five days to put up and cost $12,500.
