Barr + Wray Ltd, the swimming pool and luxury spa provider, is continuing to strengthen its presence overseas after confirming two contracts totalling £2 million.
The firm has been appointed to oversee and carry out the installation of all spa facilities at two projects in Singapore – Resort World and the W Hotel in Sentosa.
“Securing a succession of large contracts with some of the biggest names in the Asian hotel sector is a real boost for Barr + Wray. It confirms the decision to launch our Hong Kong office was the right move,” said Alister MacDonald, managing director, Barr + Wray.
The contracts come following an expansion of the company’s operations in the Far East earlier this year with the establishment of a permanent base in Hong Kong.
“Both the W Hotel and Resort World are famed for their luxury and high standards and it is really encouraging to see our reputation in this area grow following the work we have completed at these hotels,” he added.
The company will deliver, install and test vitality and herbal pools at the 240 room W Hotel and fit saunas, steam rooms and rain pods in the spa. Set for completion in April 2012, the hotel will be one of a number of luxury hotels in Asia which Barr + Wray has worked on following the launch of its Hong King office.
The W Hotel is situated off the southern tip of Singapore and also includes a state-of-the-art fitness centre, various meeting rooms and a large residential development. The residences will feature 228 homes, ranging from two to four bedrooms along with several penthouses.
Barr + Wray has also secured a contract to design the complete wet areas of the wellness centre at Resort World – a casino resort offering attractions, hotels, spas, casinos and meeting venues.
Designed by American-based architect Michael Graves, the luxurious spa offers an enhanced wet experience and Barr + Wray will install saunas, steam rooms, Hamams and vitality, onsen and plunge pools due for completion in December.
