Large architecture firm Austin-Smith:Lord (ASL) has decided to close its Abu Dhabi office due to late payments from a client in the emirate.
Building.co.uk reported that the company is owed  £10m (US$15.7) for its work on a huge cultural quarter project in the heart of the city.
The closure of the Abu Dhabi office will result in 13 staff redundancies. This moves follows  70 staff being laid off in the UK offices.
It was also reported that the firm has appointed accountant BDO to broker a company voluntary agreement (CVA).
This would allow ASL to pay its debts in an extended period, allowing the business to continue trading.
