Architects Nikken Sekkei target Southeast Asia

Japanese architectural firm Nikken Sekkei, which runs a Middle East operation from Dubai, has opened an outpost in Singapore in a bid to cultivate demand across Southeast Asia.

The office, situated at Raffles Quay, will handle work related to planning and designing hospitals and sports facilities as well as environmentally-friendly cities and energy-saving buildings.

It will also focus on urban development projects centered on railways and other public transportation systems.

The firm said it intends to use Singapore as a strategic base because of its superior transportation access to neighboring countries. The company also has a presence in Shanghai.
