DesignMENA Summit 2019, Red Sea Project, Saudi Arabia


The Red Sea project is a 34,000km2 tourism development between the Umluj and Al Wajh cities which will include hotels and residences developed across 50 natural islands.

Saudi gigaproject architecture director to speak at designMENA Summit 2019

The director of architecture for Saudi Arabia’s multibillion-dollar Red Sea Project, Claudia Mercantini, will speak at the designMENA Summit 2019.

Mercantini has been confirmed as the keynote speaker for the architecture and design summit in December.

She heads up architecture for The Red Sea Development Company (TRSDC), which is backed the Public Investment Fund.

TRSDC is leading the development of the Red Sea Project, one of the largest and most ambitious tourism projects in the world, according to Commercial Interior Design.

Mercantini will open the designMENA Summit 2019 with an introduction to the tourism gigaproject, followed by an overview of the Saudi economy and how the project suppors the Vision 2030 strategy for social and economic change.S
