Turkish architecture practice S+ Architecture designs residential complex with green spine in Istanbul
Turkish architecture and urban design practice S+ Architecture has designed a a residential complex that features buildings of different heights connected by a green spine.
Designed for a densely built, yet green urban environment in Istanbul, B-Houses brings together various sizes of residential units, and displays a "feasible and modular construction system", according to the architects.
Stretching down the centre of the complex is a public garden, designed for recreation purposes and accessible from multiple levels due to the slope of the site.
The residential buildings further contain large private gardens and green terraces attached to the units, while the levels below the central garden partially open to the outside and contain a market, cafe-restaurant, swimming pool, sports hall, parking and technical rooms.
