MEA Awards opens for nominations and adds two new categories

Middle East Architect Awards has launched its online portal to receive nominations for the 2019 edition of the awards cycle.

This year, the awards has extended its category list to 14 with the addition of Masterplan Project of the Year and International Project of the Year for UAE-based Firms.

Masterplan Project of the Year recognises the best masterplan project in the Middle East or North Africa. Nominations for this category should acknowledge the project’s consideration of its context, endusers and client needs, as well as offer innovative solutions to current problems facing masterplanning in the region. Projects need to be at least 40% constructed to be considered for this category.

International Project of the Year for UAE-based Firms recognises the best international project designed by a UAE-based firm in the past year. Nominations for this award should acknowledge the project’s sustainable elements, as well as its consideration of its context, endusers and client needs. Projects can span various sectors and they need to be at least 40% complete to be considered. UAE-based firms include locally established practices as well as international companies with branches in the UAE.
